Earth Day Program at Ocean Beach

    Join us at Ocean Beach where we'll be planting native plants along the historic seawall planter beds! Additional projects include litter removal, weeding plants, vegetation pruning, painting, or historic site improvements. Help keep these popular public destinations well maintained for both local and worldwide visitors to use and enjoy. 

    Registration Required:
    Register for volunteer program on-line at our official park partner, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. 


    Age, Skills, What to Bring:

    • Volunteers ages 10 and up are welcome. Adult guardian/chaperones must accompany volunteers under 15 years old. 

    • Bring your completed Volunteer Agreement Form. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed.

    • We'll be working rain or shine. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather, wear hat and rain gear if necessary. If you have a pair of favorite gloves, feel free to bring those.

    • Bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.

    • No experience necessary. All necessary tools, supplies, gloves, and training will be provided.

    • Fulfills community service requirements.

    Meeting Location:

    Meet at Stairwell #5 at Ocean Beach. Nearest intersection is Balboa Street and Great Highway. Volunteers will meet their project leader at Stairwell 5 at Ocean Beach. Note: Closest bathrooms are located at the Beach Chalet about a block away.
