The National Park Service in Oklahoma City will join with Martin Park Nature Center to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails System by re-dedicating the Red Stick Trail, a National Recreation Trail in Oklahoma City.
The Sierra Club, Oklahoma City Audubon Society, and other groups will have booths and activities dedicated to our great outdoors, and at 10:45 am, a re-dedication ceremony for the Red Stick Trail will take place. Immediately following the re-dedication, a National Park Ranger will lead
a walk around the Red Stick Trail and back to the parking lot.
National Trails Day is the nation’s largest celebration of all that America’s trails have to offer. Celebrated on the first Saturday in June yearly since 1993, National Trails Day gets hundreds of thousands of Americans onto nearby trails, engaged in outdoor recreation, and sustainable volunteer efforts to benefit our parks and trails.
The Red Stick Trail is a National Recreation Trail at Martin Park Nature Center in north Oklahoma City.
