A field trip is a great way to engage with your students on the history of Reconstruction

Reconstruction Era National Historical Park is still under development, and does not yet have formal curriculum materials available for teachers. The park is able to work with school groups interested in scheduling a field trip. Contact us for more information. Additional educational and field trip opportunities are available by contacting the Penn Center. The National Park Service and the National Archives offer materials for educators.

Bus & Group Parking

In downtown Beaufort buses can only unload on Carteret Street by the Beaufort History Museum. Buses can unload and park at the Marina. For more information and to learn the city's requirements for buses please visit the City of Beaufort's tourism website. In Port Royal at Camp Saxton buses can park and unload at Pinckney Porter's Chapel. At the Penn Center buses can park in the designated bus parking behind Darrah Hall.
