Description
Join us for a time-honored, family camping tradition—the evening campfire program. Enjoy a relaxing evening around a campfire with a ranger, and learn about the parkway's animals, trees and more. Topics vary weekly. Check at the campground kiosk for this week's program. Programs are held at at the campground amphitheater in the “B” Loop.
October 5th: What's the Buzz on the Parkway
Pollinators play an important role in our world--from helping create beautiful flowers to supplying 85% of our food. Come learn about what kinds of pollinators you can find on the Parkway, why they are important and how you can help pollinators in your own backyard!
October 12th: The Fastest Animal's Fight for Survival
Thanks to successful rescue projects, Peregrine falcons have returned to Western North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Parkway. But what would be lost had the Peregrine Falcon not been rescued from the brink of extinction? Come learn about the incredible hunting methods and unique behaviors of this rare bird of prey.
October 19th: The Return of the Elk
Elk had been missing from this area for over 200 years. But thanks to a successful reintroduction program, this majestic animal can call western North Carolina home once again. Come learn more about elk and where your best chances to see them are.

***Friday nights from 4:30pm-7:00pm there will an Park Ranger at the Pisgah Inn deck with information regarding the Parkway as well as a hands on interactive table.
