Description
Have you ever wondered what a forest could tell you if it was able to tell you all that it had witnessed? The old-growth forest of Congaree National Park contains many trees that have been witness to hundreds of years of history, to a landscape constantly being shaped and reshaped by floods, storms, and humans. And even though they cannot speak to us, they still have a story to tell.
Join a park ranger for a guided walk around the boardwalk to learn about the history of this unique southern Wilderness landscape and the old-growth forest that is today a part of Congaree National Park. This walk will begin and end at the Harry Hampton Visitor Center. Please bring water and insect repellent, and wear comfortable footwear and clothing appropriate for the forecast. Pets are not permitted on this program. Service animals are welcome.
