Description

For the past 100 years, park rangers at Denali have done two things every day: feed the sled dogs and record weather observations. This valuable record of temperature, precipitation, snowfall, and snow depth provides a reference for tracking climate changes and extremes in Denali.

We are hosting this event to celebrate 100 years of cooperative climate observations between the National Weather Service and Denali National Park.

From 10:00am- 12:45pm the celebration will take place at the Sled Dog Kennels, offering a sled dog demonstration, National Weather Service Award Presentation, Tour of the Weather Station and a BBQ lunch. The celebration will continue from 1:30pm-5:30pm at the Denali Visitor Center for a science Symposium and Art Exhibit.
