San Antonio Missions quarter, featuring symbols of agriculture, community, Spain and resources.

America the Beautiful Quarters® Official Coin Release Ceremony

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

  • Sep 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM
  • Free

The 2019 America the Beautiful Quarters® design of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park Quarter depicts elements of the Spanish Colonial Real coin. Within the quadrants are symbols of the missions: wheat symbolizes farming; the arches and bell symbolize community; a lion represents Spanish cultural heritage; and a symbol of the San Antonio River represents irrigation methods and life-sustaining resources.

Join us for the official coin release in the Laurie Auditorium at Trinity University. One Trinity Place, San Antonio, TX 78212.

At this ceremony, we will present the new quarter with an official coin pour, short statements, historical color guard, and a coin exchange booth. This event is free and open to the public. Coin exchange begins immediately following the quarter launch event. At the coin exchange, the public may exchange a minimum of $10 and a maximum of $100 for the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park Quarter.

Special thanks to Trinity University for donating use of the auditorium space, and Frost Bank for exchanging quarters at this special event.
