Description
Free Ranger Guided Tour of Lincoln's Washington
If you think you know Washington, DC, wait until you see what it was like when Abraham Lincoln arrived in 1861.
Join Ranger Steve for an engaging tour of sites connected to the life and death of our 16th President. Meet up at the base of the Washington Monument at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 23. The tour is free and no reservations necessary.
The two-hour tour will be about 1 1/4 miles and includes sites associated with Lincoln's presidency and his assassination in April, 1865.
The tour makes a brief rest stop at the National Portrait Gallery (the Patent Office in Lincoln's time) and concludes at Ford's Theatre. Anyone in the tour is welcome to visit Ford's Theatre and the Ford's Museum following the tour.
Masks will be required at any indoor locations (the Portrait Gallery and Ford's Theatre), and any other place where social distancing cannot be maintained.
