Description

Thirty Days of Stories on the Underground Railroad is a series of podcasts series created in celebration of September as International Underground Railroad Month. The Oldham County History Center is celebrating by recording a podcast story on the Underground Railroad to broadcast each day of September.

Boone County, Kentucky and Slavery is read by Bridget Striker, head of the history department at the Boone County Library where she developed an Underground Railroad car tour for Boone County.

Boone County, Kentucky, borders a large area of the Ohio River, strategically placed close to Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio.  The Boone County Library has developed a series of trails that provide an interesting car tour exploring the slave history and escapes along this corridor, which includes the Escape of the 28.
