The Emigrant Experience

Join a park ranger at the wagons along the Oregon Trail Pathway, just west of the Scotts Bluff National Monument Visitor Center, anytime between 8:30 and noon. The ranger stationed there will be dressed like an emigrant of the 1850s and discuss the daily rigors of travel and camp life along the Oregon/California Trail. Learn what the emigrants packed for their long journey, what they ate along the way, and even what they enjoyed doing in their limited free time.
