Big Spring can be found south of Van Buren, Missouri. Turn off Highway 60 onto Highway 103 and drive south for about 4 miles. Call (573) 323-4236 for directions, if needed.

Description
Take advantage of the Ozarks’ dark skies! The Draconid meteor shower will peak around October 8th. Rangers will provide astronomical interpretation before and after the meteors fall.
The Ozark National Scenic Riverways has great viewing, as we have minimal light pollution and a quiet atmosphere. There will also be a dim moon during the peak of the shower, which is ideal.
Bring bug spray, chairs or blankets, and flashlights. Telescopes and binoculars are also good for stargazing, but they are not recommended for viewing meteors.
