Description

Join Park Rangers and the Veteran Corp of Artillery on July 4th for a special flag-raising ceremony.

The Veteran Corp of Artillery of New York, 9th New York Field Artillery Regiment (VCASNY), will raise the Star-Spangled    Banner over Castle Clinton in full military  regalia. The VCASNY is a federally and state recognized active American Historic Military Command, originally founded in 1790 for the purpose of preventing another British invasion of New York City, and is the oldest military unit in New York State.

After the program, Ranger-led tours of Castle Clinton will be offered  at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:30 pm. All events are free and open to the public.
