Description

Thirty Days of Stories on the Underground Railroad is a series of podcasts series created in celebration of September as International Underground Railroad Month. The Oldham County History Center is celebrating by recording a podcast story on the Underground Railroad to broadcast each day of September.

Resistance is read by Joshua Gonzalez, Partner and Manager of Foko Restaurant in Louisville; activist for social justice issues for the Latino Community in Kentucky.

From individuals to group escapes, resistance began to erupt and threaten slave holders from a local to national level.  Nat Turner, John Brown, and The Amistad Slave Rebellion are common stories of resistance that reached international news.  Kentuckians also participated in group rebellions and resistance that are not as well known but contributed to the ground-swelling movement to end slavery.
