Description
Looking for fun things to do during February vacation? The National Parks of Boston are offering lots of FREE, family-friendly drop-in activities.
Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center
February 18, 19 and 20, and February 22-25, 11:00am- 3:30pm
Have fun coloring in a SWON (Shipbuilding Women of the Navy) activity book or “riveting” a ribbon bracelet. These are great ways to learn about the 8,000 women who worked in the Charlestown Navy Yard to help win World War II. Best for ages 5 and up.
Bunker Hill Museum
February 18 and 19, and February 22-26, 11:00am- 3:30pm
Design and build your own Bunker Hill Monument using paper, scissors, and personal creativity! Best for ages 6 and up.
Our littlest visitors are invited to match questions and answers based on color and shape to find out something new about the battle. Best for ages 3 and up (a helper who can read will be handy).
Our Tic-Tack-Toe game is an intriguing way to discover what witnesses and participants said about the Battle of Bunker Hill. Best for ages 9 and up.
Faneuil Hall, Find Your Park Space
February 18 and 19, and February 22-26, 11:00am- 3:30pm
Step right up and spin our trivia challenge wheel, great for youth and families! Also available are creative coloring pages and wonderful wordsearches. Rounding out our activities, we will have two interactive pop-ups: a map where kids can place a waymarker to show how far they’ve come to visit; as well as a collaborative art project to color in a mural for Black History Month.
