Description
Join us at Nez Perce National Historical Park's Spalding Visitor Center as Dr. Christopher Schlect explores the life of Henry Spalding and the cultural changes that transpired as a result.
Spalding was a missionary who worked among the Nimiipuu for three seperate stints beginning in 1836. He lived through an era of profound change for the Nimiipuu people. Spalding was an agent of that change, he has become an icon in historical memory -- he is a hero and he is a villain -- and therefore illustrates how history lives on in the present.
