Shiloh National Military Park is excited to announce a special ranger led hike taking place on the battlefield. On Saturday, February 24, 2024, join Ranger Timothy Arnold for a hike entitled, “Jones Field: The Second Day.”

On the second day of the Battle of Shiloh, General Lew Wallace, advanced his Union Division into Jones Field. Follow Park Ranger Arnold as he details the officers and men that fought under General Wallace’s direction, as well as the Confederates they encountered and learn about the struggles they faced advancing against a fierce Confederate resistance.

The hike will begin at Tour Stop #12 (Jones Field) at 10:00 am. Hikers should be prepared to walk up to one mile on uneven terrain. Appropriate clothing for the weather, comfortable walking shoes, and water are recommended.

Pre-registration is required. Please call the Shiloh Visitor Center at 731-689-5696 any day of the week between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm to reserve your spot.
