For National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 25th, Cape Lookout National Seashore is sponsoring a volunteer clean up event on Shackleford Banks from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM.  This clean up opportunity is great for individuals, familes and groups to spend time on the island, not only picking up any trash and debris found on the island, but also with an opportunity to watch any wild horses found nearby, as well as enjoying being outside on the beach for the day.

Interested in helping us out?  Send an email to nathaniel_toering@nps.gov, who is coordinating the event, to signup for the event. (Everyone must sign up to attend).  In your email, let him know your name, how many people in your group, and contact information.

Participants will meet at the Beaufort Visitor Informaition Center on Front Street in Beaufort, NC at 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 25th.  The group will then go as a group by ferry over to Shackleford Banks.
