Come learn the skill of bamboo stamp making and what the patterns represent from Uncle George Place and Chantel Chung from 9-2pm.


Description

Uncle George Place has been a volunteer at Pu'uhonua o Hōnaunau NHP for many years; sharing his art of 'ohe kāpala (bamboo stamping) with visitors here, as well as through the community.  Uncle George makes his own bamboo stamps, and shares his creative process from inspiration to final stamp placement.  He is a wealth of knowledge and full of wonderful stories!  Come and see Uncle George in action, this Wednesday (02/01/23) from 9am-2pm in the Royal Grounds at the Hale between stations 1 and 2.
