Mammoth Cave National Park will host a special viewing event for the Geminids Meteor Shower on Thursday, December 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The Geminids Meteor Shower is a favorite amongst stargazers and is known for its bright and fast meteors.

In addition to meteor watching, telescopes will be set up for viewing planets and nebulae, offering a unique opportunity to observe the wonders of our universe. Expert rangers and astronomy enthusiasts will be on hand to guide observations and share insights about the night sky.

This family-friendly event is free and open to everyone, from seasoned astronomers to first-time star gazers. Participants should meet in the Bus Loop of the Mammoth Cave Visitor, and dress warmly. We recommend night sky viewers bring blankets or chairs for a more comfortable viewing experience.
