New Bedford's Underground Railroad Walking Tour
This event has already occurred. This page is provided for reference only.
Join ranger Rufai every Wednesday through the end of September at 2:30 PM for an Underground Railroad walking tour.
Think of the millions enslaved African Americans during America’s slavery days. What do you think would have happened if they were educated or given an opportunity to thrive instead of being enslaved? Frederick Douglass, John Jacobs, and Sergeant William Carney all made it.
Captain Paul Cuffe, born free, was a sea captain, merchant, and activist who became one of the wealthiest Americans of African and Wampanoag descent.
