Description

Buglers played an important role in the American Civil War. They issued daily orders throughout camp, provided orders on the battlefield, and helped rally troops. Buglers were often adults, but some were teenagers and a few even younger.

Fort Donelson National Battlefield is proud to provide an interpretive program on Civil War buglers and their use at Fort Donelson. The program is for children and adults. Come join us on the first Saturday of the month and hear some of the bugle calls soldiers at Fort Donelson heard over 160 years ago.

Programs are subject to staffing availability. In the interest of safety, in the event of inclement weather, programs are subject to cancelation. Information as to program status will be available online, or by contacting the Ranger office at 931-232-0576.
