The rangers and volunteers will begin at sunset, then as the sky grows darker, they will share their view of the sky until 10pm.


Description

Half The Park Is After Dark!

Take a break from the bustle and bright lights of daily life. Join local astronomy enthusiasts for a New Moon night of telescope viewing.

Dark skies and abundant stars over Glen Canyon National Recreation Area offer premier stargazing.
This activity is weather dependent and may be canceled in the event of high wind or an unclear sky. Pleease do not point your headlights at the telescopes.

7:30 pm -8:30 pm Guest Speaker Professor George Rhee - Department of Physics and Astronomy,University of Nevada, Las Vegas presents "From Galileo to NASA's James Webb Space Telescope: Evidence-based Reasoning in Astronomy."

8:30-10:00 pm- Telescope viewing and Star Gazing with Local Side-Walk Astronomers!
