"HarFest”
Join Parkway rangers for a moderate, 2 mile round-trip hike to the Lunch Rock near Craggy Gardens. Ready or not, the winter is on its way. And believe us, it’s much better to be ready! Animals and people have always used autumn as a time of preparation, preservation, and celebration before the cold sets in for good. Come find out what fall fruits are dropping on the Blue Ridge Parkway, how our animals are getting ready for lean times, and how our ancestors celebrated the Harvest.
Meet at the Glassmine Falls Overlook at Milepost 361.2. Bring water, wear good walking shoes, and be prepared for changeable weather.
