Description

Bayou Manouche

Saturday at 2:00 pm

At the National Park Service French Quarter Visitor Center

419 Decatur St, New Orleans

Bayou Manouche is a New Orleans Gypsy Jazz band playing a range of up-tempo hot jazz, Bal-musettes (originally, a stylized French waltz) and lively swing instrumental and vocal standards. We are influenced by the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli, who were creating a new and distinctive sound in Europe in the 1930’s. This music has remained fresh and alive, and is experiencing a resurgence in popularity in New Orleans and around the world.

This program is free and open to the public.
