Memorial Day Flag Retirement - Chalmette National Cemetery

Registration is needed to participate. Please visit volunteer.gov to sign up.

Over 15,300 troops who served in conflicts ranging from the War of 1812 to the Vietnam War are buried at Chalmette National Cemetery. Volunteers are needed to place flags at every headstone in the cemetery on Friday, May 22nd. On Tuesday, May 26th, volunteers are needed to remove the flags and respectfully retire and package them for storage.
