The Winter Season and the Anishnaabek

Description
Join Anishinaabe historian Eric Hemenway on a hike to learn how winter impacted the Anishnaabek of Northern Michigan and how the Anishnaabek adapted their lives to make it through this most difficult season.
Preregistration is required. Plan to meet at 10 am at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center for an introduction. From here, the group will caravan to the Railroad Grade Trailhead.
Due to the nature of activities on this hike, we ask that pets remain at home.
Important:
Programs may be cancelled or the location may change due to snow conditions or winter temperatures.
The decision to cancel or change the location is made two hours in advance. Please call 231-326-4700, ext. 5005, for a voicemail message with the final details.
Programs should be assumed cancelled if Leelanau County or Benzie County are under a "Winter Storm Warning" issued by the National Weather Service.
