Wilderness Visitor Center: Take William Floyd Parkway (Route 46) to Smith Point County Park for access to the Wilderness Visitor Center. Parking is available in the parking lot just east of the Wilderness Visitor Center, a small hexagonal building to your right as you are headed south.

Description
Its early fall and early evening – the perfect time to explore, discover and enjoy the barrier island landscape with a park ranger. Join this 3-mile round trip hike to the Wilderness Breach and catch a Fire Island sunset at the conclusion of the program. Dress for the weather, wear closed walking shoes, bring insect protection and drinking water.
