Description
Join the National Park Service for an exciting, ranger-led walking tour of the historic Logan Circle and Shaw Communities beginning the weekend of Juneteenth!
Participants will learn about how the area was developed after the Civil War and how its African American residents reshaped the community during the time of legal segregation in the twentieth century.
The tour will begin at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 18th, and will be given every Friday and Saturday at 10:30 am thereafter. Participants should meet at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House NHS (located at 1318 Vermont Avenue, N.W.) In the event of inclement weather such as a thunderstorm or extreme heat, the tour will not be given.
