Description

May 17 is extra special at Biscayne National Park with Kids to Parks Day and Park After Dark combining to provide a full day for families and young visitors at heart to engage with their park! Come join us in fun, meaningful activities that highlight the importance of stewardship, conservation, and responsible recreation as inspired by Dr. Seuss’s "The Lorax." Kids and adults can earn badges and patches while learning about one of their 433 NPS sites.

“We are the Reef Rangers!
We speak for the seas.
For the fish, the coral, and the manatees.
We dress ourselves in green and grey
to help keep you safe and protect the bay.
If knowledge and exploration are what you seek,
then heed the rules and words we speak.
The Keys here once were almost bought.
The land deforested, profits sought.
Instead, Floridians began to shout,
“We should protect this place without a doubt
so people can learn what it’s all about!"
The future of this place once grim and dark,
Now protected forever in your National Park.”
Ranger Roberto Porifera
