Forest Bathing
Also known as Forest Therapy, this practice is a slow, mindful immersion in nature that originated in Japan.
The guide will suggest voluntary activities called invitations that help participants let go of the busyness of everyday life and immerse themselves in the soothing sensuality of nature.
Forest Bathing has many health benefits, including lowering blood pressure, boosting the immune system, and alleviating stress. It also clears the mind and increases creativity.
This program is provided by the Virginia Master Naturalists, Merrimac Farm Chapter. Please wear long pants and walking shoes, and bring water and insect repellant.
