Come celebrate Biscayne National Park's 56th Birthday!
At Convoy Point you can enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk looking for marine wildlife. Stop by the Dante Fascell Visitor Center to watch a park film and learn about the ecology in the park, as well as about Shipwrecks, Pioneering Families, and how the park was protected. Free activities throughout the day include:
2-4 PM Fishing clinic. Learn about fishing and how pioneers survived catching their dinners in our free Fishing Clinic on the jetty bridge.
5:30-7 PM Free Sunset Paddle. Explore the coast by Convoy Point while hearing the story of how the park came to be, and watch the sunset from canoe. Reservations are full.
5:30-7 PM Free Sunset Watercoloring. Paint the sunset while relaxing on shore, watercolor paints/colored pencils/crayons and paper provided.
7-8 PM End your night roasting a s'more at our firepit, having a bite of celebratory Key Lime Pie, and taking a peek through our telescope at what the night sky has to offer. If stargazing inspires you, ask for a Junior Ranger Night Explorer Workbook to earn your own Junior Ranger Patch!
Enjoy some extra time to walk the jetty as we will be closing later (8 PM) than our regular time (5:30 PM).
This event has been rescheduled from October 19th to October 26th due to weather!

This event is free to attend.
Location
The Dante Fascell Visitor Center, 9700 SW 328th St, Homestead, FL 33033 is where all events will be. The Sunset Paddle will meet in the visitor center desk at 5:15PM. Sunset Painting will be on the board walk east of the canoe ramp. S'mores will be by the manatee bench downstairs of the visitor center. Stargazing will be on the quay by the marina.
