Impacts of the Civil War on the Natural Environment

Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park

It is not difficult to imagine how battles during the Civil War would ravage the surrounding places where they were fought. However, those ravages were not confined only to the battlefields. The armies were massive and the landscapes far way from these armies also felt the effects of such a high concentration of humans being in one place. We encourage you to participate in this program to find out how Chattanooga and other areas were affected by this terrible war.

Please dress appropriately, and chairs are recommended.

There is a $10 entrance fee to access the park for visitors ages 16 and older, visitors ages 15 and younger are FREE.
