Description

Become a Junior Ranger! Every second Saturday of each month is Junior Ranger Day at Waco Mammoth!

Interested youth complete a Junior Ranger booklet during their visit, share their answers with a park ranger, and receive an official Junior Ranger badge and Junior Ranger certificate.

Junior Rangers are typically between the ages of 5 to 13, although people of all ages can participate.

Join us for a special day of activities. Come earn any or all of these fun badges...some are rare and hard to find!

  • Jr. Paleontologist
  • Boy Scout Ranger or Girl Scout Ranger
  • Night Explorer
  • Eclipse Explorer
  • Centennial Jr. Ranger

Other activities include:

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Dig Site Tours

Ranger guided tours offered every 30 minutes. ($5.00 or less per person).

11:00 AM - 11:15 AM: Story Time

Join a park ranger for a fun Ice Age story. (Free).

12:00 PM: Make A Fossil

Learn about different kinds of fossils and make one to keep! ($0.50)

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Ancient Oceans

Find and keep real fossils in this educational class. ($3.00).

2:00 PM: Bone-oculars

Decorate your very own fossil binoculars to help you see our dig site during your tour. ($1.50)

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Ancient Oceans

Find and keep real fossils in this educational class. ($3.00).
