Drawing to See: Tools of Discovery for Your National Park Visit
Advance reservations are required.
Instructor: Phyllis Northup
There is a very powerful connection between drawing and seeing. We will use a series of basic drawing exercises that will help you to develop your visual perceptions. The emphasis is not on learning to draw, but on using drawing to see the natural world around you more clearly. Drawing is a wonderful way to ensure that you will remember something that you have seen. Not only will you have to look at it much more closely in order to draw it, but you will also have the drawing to refer to later. This seminar will encourage you to use drawing as a tool of discovery to enrich your experiences as you explore Shenandoah and other new places. It will help you to see in a whole new way, as well as develop some new drawing skills. You will find that developing visual perceptions and learning to truly see will create a much deeper appreciation of the world around you.
All supplies will be provided.
