Description

Join a ranger for a guided hike into Horseshoe Canyon!

This hike is strenuous covering 7 miles, sometimes in deep sand, and includes a steep ascent of 650 feet elevation in 1 mile to exit the canyon. You should arrive well prepared with plenty of water, lunch, and snacks, any medications you may need, sun protection, clothing appropriate for the weather, and good hiking shoes. We may cancel hikes due to flash flooding or thunderstorm activity.

Hikes are limited to 10 particpants; if your group has 4 or more people, please let us know in advance. (Call (435) 259-2652 between 8 am and 4:30 pm.) On the day of the hike, meet the ranger by the bulletin board at the west side trailhead of Horseshoe Canyon at 9 am.

The road to Horseshoe Canyon is normally a two-wheel-drive road. However, this can change quickly due to storms (rain or snow) and sand dunes blowing across the road. Call ahead for the latest road conditions if you are not driving a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle.
