Description

Atlanta Science Festival Event

Join Park Ranger Jerry Hightower for this fantastic, fun-filled discovery adventure at Sibley Pond. Amazing and wonderful creatures live in the waters of Sibley Pond. Become pond scientists and look through the wet leaves collected at the edge of the pond for the aquatic stage nymphs of dragonflies and damselflies along with weird and wonderful insects of all sorts. Find tadpoles, minnows, newts, and scuds! Learn about the tiny but fierce pond predators, their life cycles, and more cool facts about the living pond community. Identification guides will be available so that you can identify the “tiny monsters” you have found. This is an exciting and fun activity for persons of all ages.

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on a forest trail. Bring water and snacks.
