Join Keleman Point Farm, (4570 Akron-Peninsula Rd Akron, OH 44264) and The Healing Brew for their first annual nature walk and working farm tour with Tennessee Fainting Goats, a collection of chickens and other barnyard animals. The cost of the walk is $12 per person; children are free. Children and parents are encouraged to interact with and feed the livestock. ( Animal feed will be available for a donation)
Keleman Point Farm was established in 1875 by Nathaniel Point as a family farm with dairy cattle. Take a step back in time to see what a working farm would be like and see original structures from that era.
Bryan Peters, MH, will showcase the Kelemen Point Farm and its centennial Kitchen Gardens of the home and farm. This farm showcases native plants, medicinal plants and kitchen plants that were planted by the residents during their time on the farm. Bryan Peters , Partner at The Healing Brew, is an intuitive herbalist, his gifted skills stem from his rich heritage of medicinal healers from the Appalachian Mountains and the Crow Nation. Spending his youth in the woods of Northeastern Ohio where he was raised, Bryan’s grandmother taught him a wide range of herbs to be used in traditional/folk herbal remedies and medicines.
Bryan’s extensive knowledge of traditional folk and medicinal herbal skills has led him to teach classes in the Northeast Ohio area in making herbal tinctures, salves, and oils, along with lecturing herbal properties and their modalities, at Walsh University. This walk will be offered on June 5th and 6th, Aug 14th and 15th and September 18th.
