Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will host a ranger-led, 90-minute tour exploring the stories associated with some of the soldiers who were awarded the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military decoration, for actions that occurred during the Battle of Chickamauga. Participants will meet at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center before starting this car caravan tour. Please dress accordingly for the weather and a folding chair might be desirable.

Acts of valor were not uncommon during the fighting at Chickamauga, but what acts went above and beyond the call of duty which led to awarding the Medal of Honor? This tour will explore some of the individual soldier’s stories and how they ultimately received the nation’s highest honor.
