Description

Join us at the Truman Farm for Painting in the Park. Park staff will provide instruction on how to paint using acrylics and information about the Truman Farm. All art supplies will be provided and participants will take home a finished painting of the Truman Farm. The program will be held outdoors on the front lawn and socially distant. Be sure to bring a chair, mask (for times we can’t socially distance), and wear warm clothes.

Harry Truman spent 11 years on the family farm in Grandview from 1906-1917. It was here that he learned common sense and gained self confidence. The farm years would prepare him for the presidency. The farmhouse, chicken coop, garage and surrounding 10 acres are preserved and part of Harry S Truman National Historic Site.
