Description

After Dark in the Park: A Virtual Visit to the Subaru Telescope

The Subaru Telescope is located on Maunakea on the Island of Hawai`i. Operated by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, this amazing observatory has remained at the forefront of discovery and exploration bringing together astronomers from all over the world since completion in 1999. Join Astronomer Kumiko Usuda-Sato, Ph.D. as she takes us on a virtual visit through the telescope, highlights discoveries, and shares how the Subaru staff engages with the local community while embracing the Native Hawaiian host culture.
