Visit the encampment of the 26th North Carolina at Stop 3 on the Eastern Front Tour Road! Throughout the weekend, living historians will be depicting the common soldiers' life in camp and the trenches. Come learn how the troops were put to work and how they passed the time as the siege dragged on. The soldiers will also be discussing the looming election back home. 

Saturday, September 14 

  • 9:30 – Encampment Open to the Public 
  • 11:00 – Infantry Drill and Weapons Demonstration 
  • 1:30 – Infantry Drill and Weapons Demonstration 
  • 2:30 – Election in Camp 
  • 4:00 – Encampment Closed to the Public 

The Eastern Front unit of the park can be accessed at the Eastern Front Visitor Center, 5001 Siege Road, Petersburg, Virginia.
