Description
Join us on April 27, 2024, during National Park Week at the Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument in Wilberforce, Ohio, for Junior Ranger Day and a morning of artistic sculpting.
On December 16, 1903, Charles Young spoke at Stanford University. During his speech he praised sculptor, Edmonia Lewis. Lewis' art was influenced by both her African American and American Indian heritage. Her unique style caught the attention of many. This included Young who later purchased two sculptures by Lewis, which he displayed in his home.
