Description

Join us November 11th at 9:00 am for a special Veteran's Day Program with the Ira Hayes American Legion Post 84.

Located on the Gila River Indian Community reservation,  American Legion Post 84 is named after Ira Hayes, World War II veteran and member of the Pima tribe.  Ira Hayes is most famously known for being one of the six men who was photographed raising the Amiercian flag on the island of Iwo Jima.

The program will feature an interview with legion members about their time in service, the history of Ira Hayes, and the role of the American Legion in veteran life.
