Description

Come join Ranger William from the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail (OVNHT) for a morning of learning and an optional afternoon of hiking with Conserving Carolina!

At 10:30am, Conserving Carolina will host Ranger William at the Anne Elizabeth Suratt Nature Center at Walnut Creek Preserve in Mill Spring, NC to hear the story of the trail in 1780 and how it served as a major stepping stone towards American victory in the Revolutionary War, a program entitled "Path to Liberty." This program will last approximately 45 minutes with time for questions afterwards.

After a break to go find lunch, program attendees will have the option to reconvene at 2:00pm for a hike guided by Ranger William and Conserving Carolina at Alexander's Ford, a beautiful piece of the OVNHT at Bradley Nature Preserve in Rutherford, NC off Grays Chapel Church Road.

These free programs are not mutually exclusive, and everyone is invited to attend one, the other, or both! RESERVATIONS are required, and the afternoon hike is limited to 30 participants.
