Step back in time and learn about the history of Spiritualism in Hopedale, Massachusetts. During the mid-1800s, a group of people gathered near Milford, MA, to form a commune to live out their ideals. Their community, which would be called Hopedale, welcomed people with radical beliefs for the time.

This walking tour, co-hosted with local historian Linda Hixon, will focus on the people in the community who promoted spiritualism, a religious movement that includes a belief in communication with the dead. Walk will begin in front of the statue in Adin Ballou Park.
