Have you ever wanted to see Saturn's rings, live and in-person? Have you wondered what kinds of deep space objects lie beyond our solar system? Find out at a Haleakalā Telescope Party! Telescopes will be set up for nighttime viewing, and park staff will be on hand to answer questions and take you on a sightseeing tour of the night sky.

Attendees should plan for cold and windy weather and bring red-light flashlights or headlamps.

Fees

This is a fee-free day for the National Park Service. All entrance fees are waived for this day, and there is no fee for the program itself.

Location

This event takes place next to the Haleakalā Visitor Center. The Telescope Party is entirely outside, and attendees should come prepared with plenty of warm layers.

This program begins after sunset. Allow for ample time to enter the park and drive to the meeting location, as parking before, during, and immediately following sunset can be difficult. It is a half-hour drive from the Summit District entrance station to the Haleakalā Visitor Center.
