Defend and Protect: Arming the American Soldier

This program will highlight Harper Ferry's gun-making industry and the field-use of those weapons. Park rangers and living history volunteers dressed in civilian and military period clothing will staff displays of Harpers Ferry weapons and technology, and the War of 1812-era Chesapeake Independent Blues and 1850s-era US Marine Corps Historical Company will conduct an afternoon historic weapons demonstration.
