About this event
Calling all children, parents, guardians and those who want to learn about pressing plants! Join us for a FREE family-friendly event, where you'll learn all about the scientific world of plant pressings (herbaria).
Join Ranger Master and members of the nursery team to learn how to cut and arrange plants for drying and pressing, how to identify and label plants and their parts, and how to glue and mount pressings for long term storage.
All registered participants will get to take home their own native plant pressing! Class will be aimed at 3rd-7th graders and their guardians, but all are welcome! Learn how to start your own mini-herbarium and get crafty!
Meet us at the Santa Monica Mountains Visitor Center at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas on Saturday, October 2nd at 10:30 a.m. We will meet in the courtyard with the blue umbrellas.
The 90-minute program will be limited to 25 people, so please be sure to register. Don't forget your sun hat, sunscreen, water, and your gardening gloves.
