Join Shiloh National Military Park on Saturday, March 29, for a special ranger-led hike.

Ranger Anthony Killion will be leading an approximately three-mile hike across the Shiloh battlefield, following in the footsteps of Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston. Learn about General Johnston from time he hears the first shots of the battle up to the moment he passes away from a mortal wound on the afternoon of April 6, 1862.

The hike will begin at 9:00 a.m. on March 29, with a brief meeting at the visitor center before starting the trek. Participants should come dressed for the weather; prepared to hike over steep, slippery terrain through thick woods, and the possibility of crossing creeks. Insect repellant and ample drinking water are recommended.

To register for the hike, please call the Shiloh Battlefield Visitor Center at 731-689-5696.
