Harriet Tubman: The Human Legend

Women's Rights National Historical Park

Special Event
  • Feb 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM
  • Free

Harriet Tubman is commonly described as a courageous, determined, and fearless “Moses of her people." She was a human being that stood boldly and proudly against the systems of oppression and racism by leading formerly enslaved individuals to freedom. The multiple freedom missions that Tubman made back and forth to the Eastern Shore of Maryland attests to her massive humanistic drive for equality and strength to persevere, despite her own physical challenges. This presentation will help participants make the connection between Harriet Tubman: the Civil War nurse, spy, scout, Underground Railroad conductor, and entrepreneur, and Harriet Tubman: the faith-filled wife, mother, sister, aunt, and community member.

Join Park Ranger Brittany Lane (of the Harriet Tubman National Historical Park), for this opportunity to learn about Tubman's unconditional love and desire to serve her community and meet the basic needs for the elderly, sickly, and disabled.
